Golden Trinnacle
A location I've wanted to visit for a while, but not the easiest to get to!
Some of the more common and iconic locations - everywhere, not just the Peak District - are fairly accessible, with just a short-ish walk from the car. The trinnacle (so named as it's a three-pointed pinnacle) is a good couple of hours walk from the car park at Dovestones Reservoir. You ascend the Greenfield Valley past three reservoirs, the last of which is in this image, and you follow the path out of the bottom of the shot.
At this point, you then need to make your way up Greenfield Clough, which is rocky and not an easy path. There's some great waterfalls as a reward on the way up, but a little clambering is involved. Then you climb the last part of the hill onto Ravenstone edge, round a corner, and the Trinnacle is right there.
Ben and I made the hike up, grabbed sunset and cooked dinner at this spot and then camped overnight a little further down the ridge. Well worth the effort, and really please we were rewarded with conditions like these.
