Lud's Church
In the woodland north of The RoachesĀ is a chasm caused by an ancient landslip - I visited on a trip exploring the Dane Valley in the Staffprdship Peak. It's a very impressive location, a narrow gorge with huge stone walls, but I found it very hard to photograph. The bottom is quite muddy and bare as it's popular hiking route, so that's not overly photogenic.
However, the light coming through the trees above and the ferns, mosses and bushes caught my eye so I opted for a slightly more abstract view. I think it captures some sense of being down in the chasm with the light filtering though.
