Ringlet on Grass Head

A Ringlet Butterfly sitting on a head of grass, taken at Reddish Vale Country Park on a pre-breakfast outing.

I really like the simplicity of this one, but I have to be upfront... I was with Tony North, something of a macro-supremo, and he was showing a couple of us how he acheives his images. Having carefully caught the subject, and cooling it into a more docile state, he then places it on to the perch which is well placed away from distracting elements.

The plant and the butterfly are absolutely correct for the area where they were shot, and it's as far away from a studio as you can get - but equally I can't help but feel I didn't work for this image as much as I would like - Tony did the graft as a demo - I framed it up, set the settings and shot the image.

Does it make it less 'my work'? Probably... Does it mean I don't want to share it? Nope :)
